WAREHOUSE AND LOGISTICAL VALUE PROPOSITION
Our 24/7/365 warehouse operations manage > 600 flights per day out of our 10 hub locations around the world.
This includes centralised bulk storage and standard tray packing facilities, warehouse trolley packing, pre-order and home delivery fulfilment, as well as final mile delivery solutions, where required.
The operational solution design is fundamental to the efficiency and therefore cost effectiveness of the warehouse operation. A key focus of this element also includes the maximisation of space, making use of a Just In Time (JIT) supply chain, allowing the business to achieve output from each square metre of warehouse space available.
The operation runs on our cloud based proprietary Warehouse Management System (WMS), which is fully integrated, therefore providing us with a single golden thread of live data and controls to track each product. This results in our ability to maintain a consistent stock loss percentage of <1.50% across all of our operations globally. The system utilises bar code scanning technology to improve accuracy and minimise manual input of data. The live data dashboards allow the Operations Management team to manage productivity per station as well as per user.
As sales shift to our online retail solutions, the warehouse operations realign to include a fulfilment centre component to deliver these pre-orders for inflight distribution or home delivery.
Document Business Continuity Plans (BCP) provide alternative methodologies to deliver the required service to our customers, covering all instances that could impact our operation.
The key component underpinning our operations is Health & Safety, with a thought programme of ongoing audits, including hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) testing, amongst other controls and tests.
The continuous improvement objectives of our Operations Management teams, along with the fundamentals set above, deliver a reliable, cost effective warehouse and logistics value proposition to our customers.
