Tourvest Retail Services has partnered with connected cabin digital services provider and Boeing Horizon-X invested company Immfly.

According to Tourvest, the collaboration integrates an innovative, touch-less omnichannel retail proposition for airlines and rail operators with an advanced connected cabin digital services and entertainment platform.

As exclusively revealed by TRBusiness last month, Tourvest Retail Services has invested in a full omnichannel e-commerce platform to emerge from the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic as a digital travel retail provider.

The new e-commerce platform replaces Tourvest Retail Services’ standalone pre-order site. It will enable the company to offer a sense of personalisation, understand historic purchases, target people based on their preferences and engage with customers at home.

Clive Jones, Chief Executive Officer at Tourvest Retail Services told this publication last month: “When our business emerges from the pandemic, we will be a digital travel retail provider. This is absolutely clear. When our airlines re-start, the technology will be on board.”

SAFE CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT

This development with Immfly is designed to engage with customers safely through a digital engagement from their seats, via the on-board entertainment system or their own mobile devices. This will enhance customer satisfaction and present an opportunity to secure ancillary revenues.

Tourvest Retail Services supplies and manages British Airways’ duty free service globally. It also runs the duty free programmes on a number of other airlines including Kenya Airways and Ethiopian Airlines.

Jones commented: “By combining our individual strengths through this strategic partnership, we are able to leverage the synergies created to benefit our customers.

“This collaboration allows us to integrate our retail value proposition into the onboard digital platforms, enhancing our omnichannel e-commerce journey, while maintaining a single, seamless and personalised customer experience.”

Michelle Green, Head of Business Development, Strategy & Innovation for Tourvest Retail Services added: “As a global leader in travel retail, we have been developing our digital strategy both for customer facing solutions as well as back-office functionality.

“Our API stack ensures a seamless end-to-end approach that drives customer satisfaction as well as, critically, the integration into the back of house supply chain and waste management elements. We are proud to be collaborating with Immfly to ensure that our onboard offering remains world class.”

Pablo Linz, Co-Founder and CEO, Immfly said the company had remained committed to continuous innovation since launching its first platform for managing onboard digital services. This provides its airlines and customers with a real competitive advantage.

Linz remarked: “This collaboration with Tourvest remains true to that commitment, partnering with like-minded businesses who want to innovate and advance the customer experience.”

Maria Cardenal, Vice President of Product and Digital Services, Immfly concluded: “This collaboration with Tourvest demonstrates our platform’s agility to interface with airlines’ key strategic partners, to deliver industry-leading digital services.”
